  1. In pursuance of the National Action Plan of the National Assessment and Accreditation council (NACC), Bangalore, for performance education, assessment and accreditation and quality up gradation of institutions of higher Education . The NACC proposes that every accredited institution should establish an internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IOQC will become a part of an institution’s system and work towards realizing the goals of quality echachancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQOC is develop  a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions.
  2. Since Quality substance and Quality enhancement are very important for a teacher education institution. To organize and monitor different activities of quality enhancement, IOQC cell was objectives in year 2006.
  3. The objections of IOQC are :-
    1. To promote, design, develop and monitor quality assurance activities of the institution.
    2. To promote, design consciousness and contributories of all units and functionaries of the institutes.
    3. To get an overview of the quality practices of the institution.
    4. To examine, the practices ideas, planning, implementing and measuring the outcome of academic and administrative performance of the institution.
    5. To generate good practices, ideas, planning, implementing and administrative performance of the institution.
  4. Strategies
    IQOC Shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for:
    1. Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
    2. The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes
    3. Optimization and integration of modern method of teaching and learning.
    4. The credibility of evaluation and procedures
    5. Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services.
  5. Functions:
    Some of the functions expected of the IOAC are:-
    1. Development and application of quality benchmarks/ parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
    2. Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of teacher dedication programmes
    3. Organization of the workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
    4. Documentation of the various programmes/ activities leading to quality improvement.
    5. Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for quality related activities.
  6. Benefits:
     IQAC will facilitate/contribute:
    1.  To a heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality   enhancement and facilitate internalization of the quality culture NACC for Quality and Excellence in Institution.
    2. To the enhancement and  integration among the various activities of the institution and institutionalize many good practices
    3. To provide a sound basis for decision making to improve institutional functioning.
    4. To act as a change agent in the institution.
    5. To better internal communication.
